Handcuffing Techniques The video will demonstrate and explain some basic handcuffing techniques and procedures that can be used for the different levels of the force matrix. It will include methods of carrying the handcuff for deployment under stressful situations. Also included will be handcuffing against a compliant individual, an individual in a felony car stop or open area, and on the ground and against a wall or vehicle. "Double Locking" is stressed and required in all handcuffing situations! The video includes techniques for getting a cuffed suspect off the ground and also how to remove the handcuffs from an individual in a safe and tactical manner. All in all a well rounded instructional video for the rookie and veteran officer alike.
Car removal Techniques in this video deal with an officer being forced to remove an uncooperative or combative person from a vehicle. Demonstrated will be Joint manipulation and/or nerve attacks to gain the combatant's compliance with the vehicle removal request. Used will be joint locks, pressure point applications, as well as use of the vehicle itself in aiding the officer in this task. Use of the vehicle to assist in a suspects removal is an innovation unique to the USPDTA and developed by Master Trainer Kirk VanDegrift with assistance of Trainer Wade Dirks, both USPDTA members and Staff. A must have addition to the library of the serious trainer or officer.
